It is where we spend the most personal and private part of our lives, and it is also the framework within which we all live and work in the public part of our lives. Architecture lies at the intersection of art and science. It brings together primal needs and high tech.

Architecture is everything. Architecture is like a grain of sand, and within every grain of sand is eternity (see Blake). I love architecture because it allows me to see myself, to hear nature, and to touch God. Architecture has given me everything in my life.

What made you want to be an architect?

As any architect can tell you, going all the way back to “what made me want to be an architect”, it is a love/hate/love/gun-in-mouth/love relationship that at times can be very complicated and at other very special times is very simple and clear. My own personal journey with architecture began when I was 3 years old.

Architecture opens your eyes and mind. Before you knew what this subject was all about, a walk on the road would have been a boring one with earphones plugged in, and starting off from home and desparately waiting for the destination. Architecture makes the walk interesting.
