He had become so unpopular among fans that DC killed him off and replaced him with the much more popular Wally West. Once Didio took over DC Comics, he set about bringing back all of his favorite Silver Age characters, so much so that he had the entire reality rebooted and keeps depowering anybody that’s not Barry.
