Are gifted people emotional?
Giftedness has an emotional as well as intellectual component. Intellectual complexity goes hand in hand with emotional depth. Just as gifted children’s thinking is more complex and has more depth than other children’s, so too are their emotions more complex and more intense.
Are gifted children immature?
Despite their astonishing intellect, gifted children can display a surprising level of immaturity at times. They may melt down at the most inopportune moment, embarrass you with their lack of social skills (often due to asynchronous development), and refuse to use that logic you know they possess.
What are the disadvantages of being gifted?
Gifted people have high standards. Gifted people often set themselves, and others, very high standards. This can lead to overwork and exhaustion. It can also affect their relationships with others who find their high standards too demanding.
Do gifted people have higher emotional intelligence?
By analyzing many previous studies, it found that people who have been classified as gifted also tend to score higher on emotional intelligence, at least when EI is measured as an ability rather than a trait (more on that distinction below). The author of the study is Uzeyir Ogurlu of the University of Wisconsin.
Why are gifted people so impatient?
Gifted people can be impatient when others fail to grasp information as quickly or with as much depth and complexity. While most adults have learned to curb the outbursts of frustration that were directed toward childhood friends and siblings, they still may feel annoyed and respond with impatience, especially in family or work situations.
Why is it so hard for gifted people to find love?
This can mean it is hard for gifted individuals to find people they relate to at a deeper level. Talented individuals find it hard to maintain relationships that are on a superficial level. If they fail to find deep and meaningful relationships, they can end up feeling very alone.
