Press the carbonating button. Firm short bursts (approx. 2 sec) work best. Do not press more than 5 times.
How do you troubleshoot SodaStream?

- Soda is not Fizzy Enough. Finished soda is flat, it does not have enough bubbles.

Why is my SodaStream flashing?
If your lights are blinking, your Sparkling Water Maker might not be properly connected. Disconnect and reconnect the power cord into a working electrical socket. Only use an SodaStream power adapter. Insert the plug into a wall outlet and the buttons on your Sparkling Water Maker should light up.
Why is my SodaStream not fizzy?
Make sure the cylinder is tight enough and retighten it if necessary by twisting the cylinder to the right. If you’re still not getting bubbles and if you don’t hear a sputtering sound when you press the carbonating button, you may be out of gas.

If the SodaStream Source’s nozzle is not fully inserted into the clear plastic carbonation bottle, the device will likely leak during carbonation. The noddle must be fully inserted in the carbonation bottle to avoid leaking during carbonation. Then, straighten the bottle, screw it in, and gently push the lever.
Can you overfill SodaStream bottle?
Is there any risk of overfilling the soda stream canister? Answer: Yes, it is possible (although you need to really try as it requires freezing and refreezing sodastream bottles in the process). Pressure gauges are of no help since we deal with gas/liquid mix.
Does SodaStream work better with cold water?
SodaStream recommends using cold water because it retains more bubbles and dissolves the CO2 faster. Water that is about 45 degrees Fahrenheit can absorb around 3 grams of carbon dioxide, whereas water that is room temperature or 60 degrees Fahrenheit can only absorb 2 grams.
Can you over carbonate SodaStream?
If you ever need to recarbonate your plain sparkling water, you can. Just make sure that the water reaches the fill line on the carbonating bottle. If you’ve already prepared a drink with flavor, you cannot recarbonate. Only water should be carbonated in the SodaStream Sparkling Water Maker.
Can you refill Sodastream gas cylinders?
Of course, you can use your SodaStream’s gas exchange service to refill your cylinders like we’ve gone over before. However, this isn’t your only option for purchasing refills. SodaStream provides a variety of ways to keep CO2 coming and provide your supply of flavored sparkling water.
What should I do if my SodaStream is not working?
When trying to operate the SodaStream, nothing happens. If there are too many washers present the carbonation bottle will not be able to hold in place. Be sure to check the carbonation attachment area with tweezers.

Why do SodaStream refills have two washers instead of one?
The additional depth of two washers prevents the valve’s plunger from being fully depressed. Valve Plunger Type – Sodastream refills come with two types of valves. The difference is in the plunger – one has a flattened head about 1/4″ in diameter (on left in photo), the second has a much smaller plunger head about the same size as a tire’s valve.
