Living for yourself is choosing a life of responsibility, freedom and fulfilment. You have the power to steer your life in whatever direction you choose. However, make sure that “living for yourself” does not make you a selfish person who does not consider or help others around you.

Living is taking life as it comes, embracing it and doing as much as you can to feel fulfilled. Existing is a long survival. Living is choosing happiness, it’s choosing to live. Existing is you being here physically, but doing what you have to do to get through the day.
What does it mean to live for yourself and others?
Living for yourself means living the life that YOU want for yourself, regardless of the opinions of others. It’s living a life you feel aligned with, a life you love, and a life you are proud of. Living for others means living to please others, living for external validation & approval, and caring about what others think.

It is not right to live only for yourself. On the other hand, your dreams and goals are some of the most important things you have. That’s what makes this question difficult. The way I see it, you have three obvious options: Trash your dreams, Ruin your relationship with your family, or compromise.

When you realize the truth then you are not living for others. When you live for others, you are living for God. When you serve others, you are serving God, the same God that is within you. Your ego dissipates into energy.
