But there have been so many things happening in the meanwhile that shaped cultures, that actually define the differences these days. Anyhow – you could probably say, the “germanic” people are like one tree – but the “Scandinavian” guys are on a different branch than the northern and western Germans.
No. Finns and Icelanders are’nt considered as Skandinavians so I can safely say that Germans are not considered as a skandinavians, but just like Finns, Sami people and Icelanders also north germans have much similarities with the swedes, danes and norwegians. Thing is that Skandinavias are actually geographic and linguistic group.

Anyhow – you could probably say, the “germanic” people are like one tree – but the “Scandinavian” guys are on a different branch than the northern and western Germans. With the southern Germans and anything “roman influenced” I often wonder if we’re even in the same forest….
What do Swedes think about Germans?
I think the most common negative aspects Swedes think Germans have are the lack of humor, the obsessive adherence to rules and regulations, the excessive punctuality, the formality (Swedes are the polar opposite in that case) and the adherence to strict hierarchy, all things Swedes think get in the way of efficiency and common sense.
