What is a highly gifted person?
Usually a highly gifted person is considered to be someone with a very high IQ. Sometimes high giftedness is defined as someone that is not only very smart, but also very creative and good in finding solutions to practical problems.
What percentage of the population is gifted?
Although experts in intelligence and gifted education disagree about the proportion of the population that can be labeled as gifted, most agree that at least 3\% of the population can be labeled as gifted (Borland, 2009; Konstantopoulos, Modi, & Hedges, 2001).

Gifted adults still think outside of the box, grasp information at a faster pace, and hunger for intellectual stimulation. They also may have retained some of the social quirks and defenses that developed during childhood and adolescence. All of this can lead to patterns that create problems in adult relationships.
Are gifted children harder to succeed?
Terman (1925, 1947) found a lower rate of difficulties in gifted children than in the general population. In contrast, Hollingworth (1926,1942) found that people with extremely high scores on intelligence tests demonstrated greater difficulties than people with high or average scores. Subsequent research has continued to result in differing views.
Do gifted adults feel belonging and satisfied?
A good deal of research indicates that gifted adults who are in frequent contact with other gifted individuals are more likely to feel belongingness and satisfaction, whereas those whose social environments do not include other gifted adults feel isolated and dissatisfied.
What are the characteristics of a gifted person?
