What is the concept of NCT?
NCT stands for “Neo Culture Technology,” which simply is a term to show that this group could have an unlimited amount of members. Right now there are five subgroups, each with a different concept and purpose within the overarching “limitless” theme: NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, NCT 2018, and WayV (NCT China).

On July 1, 2016, NCT 127 was announced as the second sub-unit, a Seoul-based multi-national boy group that would promote actively in South Korea. The name “NCT 127” combines the acronym for Neo Culture Technology with the number “127”, the longitude coordinate of the city of Seoul.

NCT Dream was originally conceived as a rotational unit for NCT’s teenage performers. The idea was that the members would graduate once they turned 20, the legal age of adulthood in South Korea (19 internationally), opening the door for even younger idols to fill the ranks.
