It’s not that you’re ugly, you just aint used to seeing yourself from the side. Other people are completely used to seeing you from that angle and perceive it as normal If you have that bad of a side profile, you are ugly from the front, too.

The angle of your camera. How you position yourself. Maybe it even comes down to contouring your face. There are a lot of variables here.
