How difficult is maths at Oxford?
Maths at Oxford is hard, challenging, and you are continually pushed. However, the jump from A-levels to undergraduate maths was more of a perilous leap. It is surprisingly difficult to suddenly not be able to instantly answer a question in a subject that you had, up until then, found easy.
Is Cambridge University better than Oxford University for Computer Science?
Cambridge is better than Oxford for CS. Oxford is comparable to Imperial College London and UCL. (Original post by shawn_o1) None of that matters once you fail your A Levels, especially the subjects that aren’t maths or computer science.
Should I go to Oxford or Cambridge for maths?
The standard of maths you will be exposed to at Oxford and Cambridge is very similar, so if you can’t decide, you can always explore the cities, and base it on the location and atmosphere. Cambridge is smaller, more of a town than Oxford, while Oxford is busier city. If that’s the only thing you base your application on, that’s okay!
