Why does God want us to put him first in our lives?
It means that you take the time to get to know who you were created to be and let go of the rules in your subconscious mind telling you how you should behave. To truly put God first you have to let go of what others think and follow your heart.
What happens when you put God first?
When we put Him first, His guidance is a benefit that is incomparable to what we can do for ourselves or within our own strength. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Do not put your God to the test?
You’ve heard these words before, taken from the Book of Deuteronomy. They are especially well known because Jesus quoted them to the devil himself when He was being tempted in the wilderness. Jesus said, “Do not put the Lord your God to the test” (see Deuteronomy 6:16, quoted in Matthew 4:7).
What does the Bible say about testing the Lord your God?
Jesus answered, “The Scriptures also say, ‘Don’t try to test the Lord your God!'”. But Jesus answered, “The scripture says, ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'”. Why did the Israelites test God?
